Yep!, It's Corn!

we have arrived in south dakota.  today i was in four states, which is undoubtedly, the most states i have ever been in (and will ever be in) in one single day.  we woke up in chicago, drove through wisconsin and minnesota and ended up in south dakota....stopping for dinner at a place called bob's that we, of course, found in ROADFOOD...our total dinner bill was $10...including a very generous tip.

i'm exhausted.  all day, as we drove, i thought about the humorous, crazy-antic-filled post i would relay to all of you, loyal readers, once we arrived in our hotel.  i envisioned a leisurely evening, posting videos and catching up on celebrity gossip.  but instead the four states have taken every ounce of my energy.  i'm exhausted.  i took a bath,  read some of my book and now, i just want to go to bed.  i don't even have the energy to investigate the rumors that madonna met with a divorce lawyer (but i did catch the e! news headline that something of that nature was going on...sad).

BESTIE is officially not meeting us on our drive...which both ABN and i are sad about...i think for different reasons.  ABN has spent the last hour trying to figure out if he would prefer to re-route the second part of our trip - rather than do it without BESTIE...i feel bad that i can't fill the void...but i know my place :)

our time in chicago was...eventful.  we met THE GIRLFRIEND, clearly (as far as my parent's are concerned) the real reason for our drive across the country.  i think we both thought that she was pretty great (and pretty and great) and also laughed that THE FOX was exactly the same with her as he is when he is not (for some reason i had visions of a soft and loving FOX...but he still went into a long rant about SATC and how it offended him...).  we spent time with all the oak parkers and the camp friends and on our drive back to the house after our evenings out i lamented that i wished we were living in chicago...because the friends are SO GOOD.   Never a dull moment there was an episode in 4 ambulances showing up outside the house at 4 in the morning...but 36 hours later everyone is fine and i am left wondering how in the world ABN could sleep through the whole thing (and what it means about raising our future children).

while today was long...we did it with big smiles (ABN didn't even complain when i talked to BOTH sets of grandparents which involves me screaming into my cell...only inches from his ear while was driving).  i'm told today is the longest day of driving we have....which makes me feel like i can really do this.  tomorrow is a BIG day...WALLDRUG!, mount rushmore and THE CORN PALACE!
