this may be the most amazing sight i have ever seen. i'm sitting in coffee bar (which i haven't been back in since we moved out of our temporary apartment back in september) doing some work (yes, real work), and a man just walked in carrying bread from the panOrama bread company. a long while back i wrote about the wonderful smell that seemed to come from nowhere and at the same time everywhere, as i walked back from BART to my temporary apartment. eventually i googled and googled (including "wonderfully bready smell in the mission") until i found out that in fact, the smell was the PANORAMA BREAD COMPANY (and as a side note, when i just googled AGAIN for panoram bread, my blog was the third link...that is AWESOME!). and now, directly in front of me, fresh panorama bread. three days ago this would have made the happiest red head on the block, scratch that, the happiest red head in the city (good bread makes me happy). but two days ago i decided that maybe, possibly my endless and ongoing stomach issues were due to gluten consumption and vowed to stay away for 30 days, to see what's what. and now...i'm stuck in a bit of a quandary. my stomach is still a mess. the panorama bread is RIGHT HERE. sometimes life is SO UNFAIR.
and in case you are wondering - i have heard nothing from dream job. the thing is...i was really shocked to get a first interview (just ask ABN). but once i got the first interview, i sorta figured i was guaranteed the second. i've decided the interviewer really said she would try to get back to me by tuesday, which means the rest of this week is totally reasonable. and, i'm fairly certain that she said i would hear from her either way....so until then...
last night ABN and i went to see a play...i know! for our first anniversary my parents gifted us with a season (or half a season) of tickets to the shows at the A.C.T. so i met him after work, with a smushed turkey and cheese sandwich in my bag just for him (true love, he is SO lucky) and we side-stepped our way into our very narrow seats. i felt bad for ABN, i mean, his legs were way longer than there was room for and if you know my partner in crime, his legs are not so much in the long department. the show itself was equal parts fun and weird. ABN didn't squirm too much which leads me to believe he enjoyed himself and he humored me. there were a lot of platform shoes, some strange drug references and a whole lot of...i'm not so sure i get it. but it was a night at the theater which was a good change from another night on the couch (not that i'm complaining...i usually want nothing more than to be perched on my couch).
i continue to hold out and not succumb to the pressures of the panOrama bread. i'm not sure how much longer i can resist which means i should really pack-up and go but i've got a long list of things i need to accomplish so instead, i'll have another cup of coffee and try to resist the urge.
