don't worry - i do realize that my post yesterday didn't count so much as a post at all. i also realize that no one is counting. but i do realize, i think, what makes for quality, and what makes for lame, and yesterday was on the lamer side, but also so totally rad that i just couldn't resist. if you have no idea what i am referring to, or if you just can't get enough of me and ABN in all our glory, click here. there, i'm done. i promise. moving on....
today is interview day - which is kind of a big deal (ie i've tried on most of my wardrobe...twice) but i'm trying not to think about how amazing this opportunity could be and instead, i'll provide a recap of the last couple of days. they are a good distraction.
sunday funday was just that. a wet and windy hike through muir woods, some really big trees complemented by the raisins and turkey jerkey ABN brought from the noe valley farmers market (he knows me so well!). after hiking we ate fabulous mexican food (what else does one do after a wet and windy hike). if you ever find yourself in mill valley i highly recommend JOE'S. ABN commented that he could eat every meal there for a week and there would still be things on the menu, and hotsauce on the wall, for him to try. sure i was a bit disappointed that there was no option for a post-hike margarita but being completely satisfied is over rated.
after a quick nap (for sunday funday would be incomplete without one) we headed to the meatball cook-off with BEX. the balls were aplenty while the bar was a-teeny tiny which made the experience all the better. its one of those neighborhood places where there are four beer options - all kept cold in the bathtub behind the bar - and that's it - period, and the regulars also take shifts working. it was pretty much just what i'm looking for in my neighborhood wateringhole...too bad it's not at all in my neighborhood.
i was productive for part of yesterday (and by productive i mean i didn't obsess about today's interview ALL day long). while walking into the mission early in the evening, i had a great conversation with JK who gave me lots to think about and helped me remember (and articulate) why this has the potential to be the perfect position (gym in the middle of the day...i've missed you so!...oh wait, being unemployed i can go to the gym in the middle of the day - but it's SO not the same!) (he and his husband are also trying to adopt and since i know that JK is going to be the best daddy EVER...i think you should check them out). i then met a friend from my hotline days for drinks - so nice to catch up. it's funny when you reconnect with someone who you have a shared history. while ABN and i might be new to the city, a lot of my past seems to be out here too. i think that can be overwhelming (especially for me and my past) but i've been lucky enough to find out it can be really great as well.
alright, i think interview day calls for a bagel and cream cheese - oh what about my gluten free month? choices....
