The Hills, Episode 1

i just spent the last two hours trying to find noe valley.  seriously.  i mean, it probably would have helped if i pulled my map out of my backpack more than twice while walking up, down, and around but exploring is part of the experience...right? even though it is cold i am a sweaty mess.  apparently this will be a two shower day.

the good news is, noe valley has been found and while i don't know how i got here, and i don't know how to pronounce noe valley, i do know that i am here now and that feels good.  they weren't kidding when they said there were hills in these here parts...give my tush a couple of months of this and i'll be set!  it also feels good because for the last two hours that i walked around trying to find noe valley, i had to pee.  now that i have peed...i am happy.  and i'm drinking a cafe late and that makes me happy  too.

so an update: ABN and i had big plans to walk around portero hill which (apparently) is a neighborhood to the east (?) of our neighborhood (i would guess that the whole foods we visited on saturday night is in fact in portero hill but given the navigating skills i display
ed today i could be wrong...very wrong) but instead we were sidetracked in a major way...iphones.  ABN insisted that we wait until all the glitches were worked out before we purchased our new toys but then out of the blue yesterday became the day and we ventured into downtown sf.  it took two different apple stores, a little luck and two new phone numbers but at the end of the day we walked out with new toys (and they are great!).  we then came home, ABN attached himself to his new phone and i did laundry and cooked dinner (i am such a good wife).

this morning the alarm went off at 8 for ABN's first day at work (i've included a picture of WORK ABN).  i will never be able to get a job because if not for me, ABN would walk out the door in time for his 5 second commute down the block.  i set off in search of noe valley (as mentioned above) and a coffee shop in which to plant myself.  there were a couple of places in the mission but i was determined and pressed on (if i had known it would take so long i may have given up earlier).  my plans for the day include - getting apartment keys copied, going back to the grocery store (on the today show they made these yummy fish tacos...dinner?), catching up on a million emails and MOST importantly filling out the wedding questionnaire (an apartment and grad school may have to wait until tomorrow...first things first).

now for a poll...how long can one sit in a cafe without over staying one's welcome?  discuss.
