In the Last 4 Days I've Walked 24 Miles

how did i survive without watching kathy griffin - life on the d list?  it probably had something to do with my rule of no new shows but now that i'm not working and have no friends (what?) i have thrown all tv watching rules out the window.  this show is freaking hysterical.  and ABN seems to like it too...last night he was sitting on his chaise, checking out various options in banks, and let out at least a couple of chuckles (its possible he even dribbled a bit of his white wine).  she's just really funny...and her mom is too cute.  now if only she could figure out her hair - i feel like i could help her.

my face is red and my feet are swollen - i walked 8 miles today.  to nowhere in particular but i don't have that much going on so why the hell not!  i do believe that walking is the best way to learn the city (although i do get that normal people take the bus).  i headed to the downtown area - you know, bloomies, nordies, forever 21...all the essentials.  walking was actually a really good trick because by the time i got there i was WAY too exhausted to shop so instead i ate lunch in a swanky food court (that was in a mall with a circular escalator) and then treated myself to stand in the entrance of the 3 STORY forever 21 (i can't wait to go on a real safari...but i'm saving it for when i need a real pick-me-up).   and then, i walked home.

yesterday i had a break from my own thoughts for a few hours and had lunch with the BABYSITTER (i mean, that's who she was in my life for like 11 years but obvi it's not who she is in my life now...but i think it will take both of us time to think of each other differently so for now...BABYSITTER).  it was great - she's as awesome as i thought she was when i was 6 and she has a cute kid and brother who i am pretty sure is going to be BFFAE with ABN (sorry BESTIE).  we got manis and pedis for only $20 (that's $10 less than boston and most likely the only thing about this whole SF experience that will be) and i plan to go back (when i'm bored) to have my brows and lashes tinted (it's LEGAL in this state!).  BABYSITTER is going away for a week or two with her family but we'll have dinner at her house once she gets back.  i know it sounds crazy, but in some ways i'm glad its a couple of week away, that means in a couple of weeks, i'll have something to look forward too.

tonight - we're going out to dinner.  i've been a cooking machine (fish tacos!) but today, the 8 miles took a toll and i just can't.  i have a couple of places i've walked by in the neighborhood that ABN can choose from (but at the end of the day...i really want sushi!)
