okay, the turkey breast is in the oven! we went out last night (for sushi...yum) so i was game to cook tonight - you know, first shabbat in our new city - we should do it up, or down. whatever. i was given a recipe as part of the can you make it cookbook and decided today was the day. i'm not a big meat cooker in general (i like the way it tastes but i don't like to touch it...one time, ask my dad to tell you the story of the time i tried to cook a full chicken) but figured if i can cook a brisket (sort of) then i can handle a turkey. well...i've already hit rough waters. when i got to the store i had a choice to make - boneless or not. i chose boneless, i figured that's how i buy my chicken breasts! so now i'm modifying the recipe and we'll see what happens. if worst comes to worst - i know a few mexican restaurants we can run to. the challah looked not so great so instead i opted for sour bread - we're in san francisco after all.
