i think that my life as the queen of all things retail - might be quickly and abruptly coming to a close. something changed over thanksgiving. i'm just feeling - done. the store is empty and that makes things - boring. and the people that are in the store simply aren't spending any money. and then i'm not getting credit for all my sales and that's just incredibly frustrating. it's not that i ever felt that my future was really as a MONOGRAM STYLIST (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not where i ever saw myself) but i'm surprised by how completely DONE i feel. my feelings about my day can not be tied to whether or not i sell a coat. it's different when i work with a client and help fulfill their needs but to just sell a random article of clothing to joe shmo...i think it's time to think about moving on.
all that being said (or written) i am taking two weeks off at the end of the month for an insane tour of the east coast - and i know that i'm a very lucky lady to have such a flexible schedule. so after my vaca - and after, hopefully, some thinking and guidance from my dad/HARV/CURLY - i'll start figuring out what comes next. it's been nice to have this time, and this experience...but i know it's time to get real. although real can be scary.
tomorrow is a big day. book club is finally meeting - i've been trying to put a group together. good food, wine and a few nice girls - what could POSSIBLY go wrong? and the DOCTOR is coming from chicago...its sure to be a good time.
